Fredrich Memorial / WPA Scholarship

The family of Clarence Fredrich, through funding from the Southeast Wisconsin Pork Producers, is sponsoring three scholarships recognizing high school seniors and college freshmen pursuing a career in agriculture. Clarence was actively involved in the SE WI Pork Producers Association, very supportive of youth programming in agriculture and community events and activities.

Up to three scholarships will be given to high school seniors or college freshmen from Walworth, Racine and Kenosha Counties. The scholarships recognize the value of leadership in ag projects, programs, events and activities.

Eligibility Requirements

  • All applicants must be high school seniors or college freshmen.
  • Applicants must be pursuing a post high school education, i.e. college, technical college, short course, etc. and have a sincere interest in agriculture.
  • Applicants must reside in Walworth, Racine, or Kenosha County.

2023 Recipients

Henry Koerner

$1,000 Scholarship

Henry plans to attend the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities of University of Wisconsin-River Falls to pursue a degree in agricultural education or agricultural business and marketing. Henry has always taken advantage of the agricultural opportunities presented to him and wants to continue his love for the industry by educating youth and exposing them to the many benefits and joys it has to offer them.

Madisyn Henderson

$1,000 Scholarship

Madisyn plans to attend Iowa State University to major in Agricultural Business. Through college she plans to be involved in many on-campus activities to enhance her knowledge of the agriculture industry. Although undecided on a career, she hopes to have her own livestock operation someday also.

Matthew Hoekstra

$750 Scholarship

Matthew plans to attend UW- Whitewater at Rock County in Janesville then transfer to University of Wisconsin- Platteville to major in Crop and Soil Science. He is very passionate about farming, and in the future, Matthew plans to greatly expand his family’s small row crop operation so he can eventually farm full-time.

Maya Weinkauf

$750 Scholarship

Maya plans to attend Iowa State University to major in Agricultural Business. She hopes to secure a career focusing on agricultural marketing so that she can positively promote and depict the world’s most essential industry.
