PIGEON FALLS, Wis. – Registration for UW-Discovery Farms annual winter conference taking place on December 9th is now open. This year’s theme is Managing Nitrogen: More for the Plant, Less Leaving the Field. The one-day conference is a great educational opportunity for farmers, crop consultants, governmental agencies, and the general public. Conference presenters include farmers and renowned soil fertility and nitrogen management experts from Arkansas, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Topics will include: technologies for in-season nitrogen application, slow release nitrogen products, Nitrogen Use Efficiency as an assessment tool, cover crops, and tile drainage. The conference will conclude with a panel of farmers, farm consultants, and manure and nitrogen researchers sharing their experiences managing nitrogen with the goal of more for the plant, and less leaving the field.
