Fredrich Memorial Scholarship

The family of Clarence Fredrich, through funding from the Southeast Wisconsin Pork Producers, is sponsoring three scholarships recognizing high school seniors and college freshmen pursuing a career in agriculture. Clarence was actively involved in the SE WI Pork Producers Association, very supportive of youth programming in agriculture and community events and activities.

Up to three scholarships will be given to high school seniors or college freshmen from Walworth, Racine and Kenosha Counties. The scholarships recognize the value of leadership in ag projects, programs, events and activities.

Eligibility Requirements

  • All applicants must be high school seniors or college freshmen.
  • Applicants must be pursuing a post high school education, i.e. college, technical college, short course, etc. and have a sincere interest in agriculture.
  • Applicants must reside in Walworth, Racine, or Kenosha County.

2025 Recipients

Kyra Hetland

$1,000 Scholarship

Kyra is from Burlington, WI, and plans to attend Florida Southern College to major in Biology with a minor in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Kyra has been active in Wisconsin Show Pig Association, Team Purebred, her FFA Chapter and 4-H club, and plays several sports. Kyra’s love for the pork industry will continue in her future career plans as she hopes to become a large animal veterinarian and have a positive impact on her customers and their livestock.

Zander Rasmussen

$1,000 Scholarship

Zander resides in Union Grove, WI, and will be attending Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida in the Fall of 2025 where he will be majoring in Agricultural Business and Animal Science and will also be shooting on the Clay Target Team for the Warner Royals. Zander is very active in his FFA chapter, the clay target shooting team, and his church. Zander’s passion for the pork industry stemmed from his youth swine project where he has shown at all levels and now breeds his own females. Zander plans to pursue a career as a large animal veterinarian and is excited to give back to the livestock industry.

Piper Nuehring

$750 Scholarship

Piper is from Elkhorn, WI, and is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls studying Agriculture Education.  Growing up, Piper exhibited livestock at the Walworth County Fair and enjoyed holding leadership roles in her 4-H and FFA chapters, both of which taught her many life lessons. She is currently an active member of the Sigma Alpha sorority at UW-River Falls. In her future career, Piper hopes to impact youth by sparking their interest in agricultural careers and, above all, present them valuable opportunities just as her agriculture educators did for her
